PEDIATRIC SEDATION

DENTISTRY

At Tiny Tooth Co., we offer both nitrous oxide sedation and general anesthesia to safely meet the needs of every child. Nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”) is a mild, inhaled sedative that helps reduce anxiety and improve comfort—but it does not put your child to sleep. Your child remains awake, responsive, and relaxed throughout treatment.

For children who require more comprehensive care, we provide general anesthesia (GA) in a fully controlled medical setting. We partner with a trusted surgery center and also offer in-office general anesthesia with board-certified pediatric anesthesiologists. This level of care is ideal for children with extensive treatment needs, special healthcare needs, high dental anxiety, or those who may not be able to cooperate for multiple visits.

Our goal is to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality pediatric dental treatment in a single, comfortable experience—reducing the need for repeated appointments and preventing negative dental experiences. Every sedation option is carefully selected based on your child’s medical history, behavior, and treatment needs, ensuring the highest standard of safety and care.

SAFE AND MONITORED SEDATION OPTIONS

Every child experiences dental visits differently, which is why Tiny Tooth Co. offers multiple levels of pediatric dental sedation tailored to your child’s unique medical, behavioral, and emotional needs. From mild options like nitrous oxide to advanced sedation when appropriate, our goal is to provide safe, comfortable, and stress-free care for every patient.

Our clinical team strictly follows the pediatric sedation guidelines established by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), ensuring the highest standards of safety, monitoring, and clinical excellence. This personalized, evidence-based approach allows us to deliver effective treatment while prioritizing your child’s comfort and well-being.

NITROUS OXIDE (LAUGHING GAS)

Nitrous oxide, commonly known as “laughing gas,” is a safe, mild inhaled sedative used in pediatric dentistry to help children feel calm and comfortable during treatment. At Tiny Tooth Co., we administer nitrous oxide mixed with pure oxygen through a small, soft nasal mask, allowing your child to relax while remaining fully awake and responsive.

This gentle sedation works quickly to reduce gag reflex, ease anxiety, and increase comfort during procedures. Once treatment is complete, we deliver 100% oxygen to flush the nitrous oxide from your child’s system. Recovery occurs within minutes, allowing your child to return to normal activities right away.

Nitrous oxide sedation is a trusted, effective option for reducing dental anxiety and creating a positive, stress-free experience for children.

GENERAL ANESTHESIA FOR DENTAL TREATMENT

Certain situations require a higher level of medical support to ensure safe, effective treatment. At Tiny Tooth Co., general anesthesia allows your child to rest in a fully controlled, deep sleep while we complete necessary dental care. This option is recommended for very young children, patients with special healthcare needs, or those requiring extensive restorative treatment across multiple teeth.

General anesthesia is administered by a board-certified pediatric anesthesiologist who continuously monitors your child’s vital signs throughout the entire procedure. This team-based approach ensures the highest level of safety while allowing our pediatric dental specialists to focus entirely on delivering precise, high-quality care.

Your child wakes up with all treatment completed in one visit, with no memory of the procedure—helping eliminate fear, reduce stress, and create a more positive long-term relationship with dental care.
